Job Description

Junior Budget Analyst Budget Classified Job Number 2300289981 Start Date Open Date 12/19/2025 Closing Date The duties include but are not limited to: Collects, prepares, analyzes, and distributes annual financial budget planning materials. Assembles and loads financial and position data into an automated budget system. Assists with Admin functions for Budget/Financial Software. Serves as trainer for district staff on budgeting/financial reporting. Assembles, revises, formats, and proof-reads budget data as preliminary and final budget documents are constructed. Provides guidance and/or assistance to department heads, principals, directors, and others with budgeting matters. Provides constant fund management monitoring and forecasting support. Issues standard and specially designed budget status reports, revenue and expenditure. reports for budget holders on a monthly basis or as needed. Assembles various types of budget or management data such as statistics, enrollment trends, or revenue variances for special audits or management analyses as assigned. Prepares budget change request actions for Superintendent and School review and approval, and ensures entries remain balanced in the general ledger. Assists other departments in the preparation of required reports. Assist Finance Department Staff with the preparation of the monthly revenue and expenditure report. Performs other budget department duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a Bachelor's degree and over three (3) years of experience in planning, budget, finance, or a related area. An equivalent combination of training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position may be substituted for the specific educational and experience requirements. Must be skilled in the use of personal computers and related software. Must have at least three (3) years of Accounting Software experience. Must have experience with MS Office including Excel proficiency. Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently. Must be a self-starter who takes initiative to increase efficiency and provide excellent customer service to clients throughout the district. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with administrators, technicians, and support staff. Duty Days 260
Salary Range:
From/To Beginning pay - $56,428.00 Additional Job Information •Applicants selected for classified positions must undergo (or have undergone) an ABI/FBI criminal history background check (fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the MCPSS and State of Alabama Education Department) and be declared suitable and fit to teach under state law. Applicants selected must also pass a drug-screening test via forms provided by Human Resources during the selection process.•
