FINANCIAL TECHNICIAN
in the BUREAU OF MEDICINE AND SURGERY
of NAVDRUGLAB GREAT LAKES IL.
Responsibilities You will provide account maintenance and accounting support work to verify, maintain, and reconcile accounts. You will review requisitions to determine adequacy and completeness of description, which may involve research of various rules, regulations and procedures that are consistently changing. You may be designated as a Government-wide Commercial Purchase Card Holder in compliance with regulations and dollar limitations for micro-purchase authority You will prepare and submit requisitions for maintenance and obtain the necessary supplies, equipment, forms publications, services, etc. You will post, examine, balance, compute, and extract data from records to prepare reports. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience performing financial management methods and techniques, such as budget formulation, justification, tracking of obligations and expenditures and financial reporting to ensure mission-aligned fiscal planning. Experience managing cash accountability controls for receipts, disbursements, and deposits; leveraging automated systems for fund tracking and account reconciliation resolving any financial discrepancies. Experience utilizing advanced Excel functions and financial modeling tools; utilizing databases to extract, analyze and report financial data for mission support. Experience applying field purchasing and supply system regulations ( NAVSUP ) and implementing financial laws and internal controls to safeguard funds to ensure integrity of financial systems in accordance with command policy.
