Job Description

JOB TITLE
AtHyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI), we are shaping the future of mobility through innovation, advanced engineering, and global collaboration. Our finance team is growing and we are seeking a highly analytical and collaborative Senior Budget Analyst to join our team in Superior Township. In this role, you will be at the center of strategic decision-making, guiding R D investments, partnering with cross-regional teams, and ensuring financial excellence across complex, high-impact programs. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Budget Leadership & CoordinationLead budget coordination for Michigan-based R D teams, including project, vehicle, and fixed asset budgetsPartner cross-regionally with California teams to ensure alignment and consistencySupport annual planning cycles and budget recovery processes Financial Analysis & ReportingReview budget submissions and provide feedback to ensure compliance and readiness for leadership approvalPrepare and present budgets to internal committeesConduct monthly budget forecasting, variance analysis, and performance reportingAnalyze spending trends, identify execution gaps, and proactively recommend solutionsPerform ROI analysis for large-scale budgets (300M KRW+) Stakeholder CollaborationAct as the primary liaison for HQ Finance and collaborate closely with Korea-based stakeholdersLead monthly budget performance meetings with Michigan teams; support California team reviewsEngage underperforming teams to resolve budget execution challenges Systems, Data & Process ExcellenceCo-manage the budget database, Microsoft 365 Group, and SharePoint environmentsEnsure accuracy and integrity of Michigan data and validate cross-regional dataDrive continuous improvement of budget processes, reporting standards, and systemsTrain internal teams on budgeting tools, policies, and best practices
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
5+ years of experience in budget analysis, financial planning, or engineering related field.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or related disciplineStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detailProficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite (incl. Teams and SharePoint)Strong communication and presentation skillsKorean language proficiencyPreferred skills:

Experience in the automotive industryFamiliarity with Smartsheet or similar tools
