Job Description

Budget Analyst II, O'Connor Center for the Rocky Mountain West The University of Montana, invites applications for Budget Analyst II in O'Connor Center for the Rocky Mountain West.
Responsibilities:
Monitor budgets, assist with budget preparation, and process cost transfers to ensure accurate financial management Submit and track invoices, reimbursements, and payment status through financial systems Manage ProCard reconciliations and expense redistributions Process hiring, onboarding, and payroll transactions in a timely and accurate manner Track contract end dates and maintain related administrative records to support compliance and continuity
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED and three (3) years of experience in clerical work or accounting; or experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Strong organizational, self-motivation, and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously Experience performing administrative, personnel, basic accounting, invoice processing, and calendar management functions Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data analysis, and development of complex multi-sheet budget spreadsheets Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, and OneDrive Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to work independently, collaborate with diverse teams, and foster strong community relationship
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of pre- and post-grant budget processes Experience following best practices and conforming to grant management guidelines
Position Details:
Work Schedule:
Part-time 0.75 FTE (30 Hours a week), Monday through Friday (flexible hours), 12 months/year
Probationary Period:
Six (6) months minimum
