Open until filled Position Details The Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY) is the focal point for advanced teaching and research at CUNY, the nation's largest urban public university. With over 35 doctoral and master's programs of the highest caliber, the Graduate Center fosters pioneering research and scholarship in the arts and sciences and prepares students for careers in universities and the private, nonprofit, and government sectors. The Graduate Center's commitment to research and scholarship for the public good is exemplified by its more than 30 centers, institutes, and initiatives, including its Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC), a 200,000 square-foot facility in upper Manhattan, designed to promote collaboration among scientists in five areas of global research and innovation: nanoscience, photonics, structural biology, neuroscience, and environmental sciences. The Graduate Center (GC) benefits from highly ambitious and diverse students and alumni-who in turn teach hundreds of thousands of undergraduates every year. Through its public programs, the Graduate Center enhances New York City's intellectual and cultural life. The Business Office is seeking a Non-Teaching Adjunct, Level 4. The position reports to the Associate Budget Director. This is an in-person position for two (2) days a week up to 100 hours in July and August 2026, up to 225 hours for fall 2026, up to 225 hours for the spring 2027, and up to 75 hours for June 2027. Duties include but are not limited to: Prepare Cash/treasury entries in PeopleSoft. Analyze data and prepare journal entries for reclassifications, accruals, etc. Record payments from third party vendors. Calculate, analyze, transfer, and record student related fees. Assist Associate Budget Director with preparing budget transfers and journals. In collaboration with Academic Affairs, Budget Office and Accounting Office reconcile Income Fund Reimbursable (IFR) accounts and prepare journal entries as required. Prepares Expense reconciliations as part of semi-annual close process. Analyze and review umbrella accounts and ensure timely recording of reclassifications. Analyze balance sheet accounts, ensure prior year balances are reclassified timely. Assist with year-end audit including preparation of financial statements, notes, MDA and supporting schedules. Prepare ad hoc analyses Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
4 years of relevant experience Solid budget experience Advanced Excel skills (v-lookup, pivot tables, advanced formulas) Excellent writing skills. Strong analytical ability. Advanced degree or CPA PeopleSoft experience Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship will not be offered for this position.
