Contract-to-Hire:
Budget Analyst 10748 Our client, located in East Richardson, is looking for a Budget Analyst to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role is hybrid, with 2 days remote and 3 days onsite per week.
Summary:
The Budget Analyst supports districtwide financial planning, accountability, and decisionmaking by developing, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting budgets across campuses and departments. The role ensures compliance with TEA, charter finance requirements, and internal fiscal controls while providing data-driven insights to leadership.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Support development and maintenance of annual operating and grant budgets Prepare and process budget amendments, transfers, and adjustments Perform monthly budget-to-actual analysis and variance explanations Conduct forecasting and expenditure trend analysis Prepare dashboards, summaries, and board-ready financial reports Ensure compliance with TEA FASRG and district fiscal policies Support audits, AFR preparation, and TEA submissions Utilize Skyward and Excel for financial analysis and reporting Serve as liaison to campuses and departments for budget guidance Provide training on budgeting and financial coding Support special projects and process improvements
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (required)
Experience:
3-5 years of budgeting, accounting, or finance experience Public education or governmental accounting experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong understanding of TEA FASRG and school finance Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Skyward Financial Management and Excel Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
