Budget Analyst

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Budget Analyst to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Herndon, Virginia. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing contract billing, budgeting, and cost allocation processes to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in spreadsheets, and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.

Responsibilities:

• Support contract billing processes to ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
• Analyze and allocate program expenses to appropriate projects, ensuring compliance with budgetary guidelines.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to align program budgets with forecasts and project codes.
• Monitor and review program expenses against approved budgets to identify discrepancies and recommend adjustments.
• Utilize government billing tools to track and manage financial data effectively.
• Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures while maintaining high standards of accuracy. Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of government contracting billing and project budget analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet tools for financial analysis.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience working with government billing systems or similar platforms.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including procurement and finance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address financial discrepancies.
• Excellent communication skills to present financial data clearly and concisely.
