Interim Controller / CFO (6-Month Project)

ASAP We're seeking a hands-on Interim Controller/CFO to lead the finance function within a manufacturing/engineering environment. This role will oversee month-end close, full balance sheet ownership, and team leadership, while partnering closely with operations and supply chain to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead month-end close, reporting, and full accounting cycle Own balance sheet, reconciliations, and financial accuracy Manage team (4-5 direct; ~15 total) Oversee AR/AP, journal entries (including payroll), and weekly cash reporting Deliver monthly reporting and partner with Operations, Supply Chain, FP&A, and Controls Lead external audits and drive process improvements

Qualifications:

Prior Controller/CFO (site or plant) experience Manufacturing or engineering background preferred Strong leadership and ability to operate independently Experience managing complex balance sheets and audits Advanced Excel and ERP systems experience Ideal for a strategic, hands-on leader who can improve processes, scale the function, and drive business impact quickly. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
