Job Description

We are looking for an accomplished Interim CFO to provide senior-level financial leadership for a contract engagement in Chico, California. This position will partner with executive stakeholders to guide fiscal strategy, improve financial visibility, and support informed business decisions. The role calls for a hands-on leader who can oversee core accounting operations while strengthening controls, planning processes, and team effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
  • Advise executive leadership on financial strategy, resource allocation, and business decisions that align with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, internal reports, and budget materials, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and timely completion.
  • Drive the annual budgeting process and longer-term forecasting efforts, using financial trends and variance analysis to recommend adjustments.
  • Manage cash flow planning, debt oversight, and broader financial modeling to support stability and responsible growth.
  • Coordinate audits, tax-related activities, regulatory compliance, insurance administration, and internal control oversight.
  • Lead day-to-day accounting and finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement coordination, and month-end close.
  • Develop and monitor key financial and operational metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement and stronger performance.
  • Mentor and lead the finance team, building accountability, collaboration, and career growth across the function.
