This role offers the chance to lead the financial strategy of an organization dedicated to supporting families across the Central Valley. As a key member of the executive team, the CFO will ensure financial transparency, compliance, and sustainability while collaborating with diverse teams to drive the mission forward.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the senior financial leader and trusted advisor to the executive team and Board of Directors. Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and audits. Manage fund accounting for government, grant, and contract funding sources. Lead modernization efforts to improve financial systems and technology within the organization. Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, while collaborating with HR on shared compliance initiatives. Partner with department heads to support program growth and maintain fiscal sustainability. Develop and mentor a finance/accounting team Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, grant providers, and community partners. Provide clear and timely financial reporting to the Board of Directors and other key stakeholders. Drive strategic financial planning to support long-term organizational goals. Expertise in fund accounting, grant management, and compliance with public funding regulations. Proven ability to modernize financial systems and processes while honoring organizational culture. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to the Board and other stakeholders. Collaborative leadership style with experience working across departments, particularly with HR. Demonstrated success in managing diverse funding sources and maintaining financial sustainability. Experience mentoring and developing high-performing finance teams. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA is preferred.
