70 The Chief Business Official (CBO) plays a pivotal role in the effective administration and oversight of the District's business, financial, and operational functions. Reporting directly to the Superintendent, the CBO serves as a key member of the District Leadership team, responsible for managing all fiscal and business services. This includes budgeting, accounting, payroll, purchasing, investments, risk management, bond programs, and long-range financial planning. The CBO provides strategic guidance and leadership to the Business Office staff, ensuring the efficient, accurate, and compliant operation of all business services. As a trusted advisor to the Superintendent, the CBO collaborates on planning and overseeing facilities and construction projects, maintenance and operations, transportation, food services, collective bargaining, strategic planning, and other initiatives supporting the educational mission of the District. Working closely with District and site administrators, the CBO ensures that financial resources are aligned with District priorities and student needs, contributing to the overall success of the educational programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, business administration, and leadership. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The CBO must demonstrate a commitment to transparency, fiscal responsibility, and strategic decision-making to enhance the financial health and operational efficiency of the District. Preferred:
