  • Full-time Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations of our growing general aviation organization.
As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will be responsible for driving financial performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting long-term growth within a dynamic aviation environment. This role requires a strong foundation in accounting and finance, paired with direct experience in the general aviation industry and a deep understanding of its unique operational, regulatory, and economic drivers. The ideal candidate is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with proven leadership experience, strong business acumen, and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable strategy. Responsibilities Develop and execute financial strategies that align with company objectives, with a focus on profitability, cost control, and sustainable growth within the general aviation sector. Oversee all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements specific to aviation businesses. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes to support operational and capital investment decisions, including fleet, maintenance, and infrastructure. Manage cash flow, treasury functions, and banking relationships to ensure liquidity and financial stability. Supervise treasury management activities, including cash flow optimization, banking relationships, and investment strategies. Oversee financial reporting, interpretation of financial reports, profit & loss analysis, and ensure timely regulatory reporting. Drive business development efforts through market analysis, revenue cycle management, mergers & acquisitions, and strategic partnerships. Lead a high-performing finance team by providing mentorship in areas such as cost control, expense management, payroll management, and technical accounting. Ensure compliance with aviation-related financial considerations, including maintenance reserves, parts inventory, and operational cost structures. Requirements Proven experience in senior leadership roles within finance or accounting functions with supervisory responsibilities. Proven experience in the general aviation industry (e.g., MRO, FBO, charter operations, aircraft sales, or aviation services)

Extensive knowledge of financial concepts including corporate finance, tax accounting, cost accounting, public accounting, and financial modeling. Strong understanding of regulatory standards such as
GAAP, IFRS, IAS, ASC 606, COSO
frameworks, and governmental accounting practices. Demonstrated expertise in SOX compliance, risk analysis, audit processes, and internal controls. Proficiency with advanced financial software systems and tools for financial analysis and reporting. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data for strategic decision-making. Excellent negotiation skills coupled with business development acumen to foster growth opportunities. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; CPA or CFA certification preferred. Familiarity with supply chain finance concepts is a plus; experience in nonprofit or governmental accounting is advantageous.
