BDI Marine Contractors, LLC is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer / Controller to oversee the company's financial operations, accounting processes, cash flow management, job costing, and financial reporting. This role is ideal for a hands-on financial leader with strong construction accounting experience who can manage both high-level financial strategy and day-to-day accounting oversight. The ideal candidate will have experience with project-based accounting, WIP reporting, job costing, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and financial reporting for a construction or heavy civil company. Active CPA license is required. Candidates who do not currently hold an active CPA license will not be considered. Responsibilities Oversee all accounting and financial operations for the company Manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning Review job costing, project profitability, WIP schedules, and percentage-of-completion reporting Work closely with ownership and project management to monitor project costs, billing, and profitability Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end close Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial policies Prepare financial reports and provide analysis to support company decision-making Coordinate with outside CPA firm, tax advisors, insurance/bonding partners, and lenders as needed Assist with audits, financial reviews, compliance requests, and insurance/bonding documentation Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems, reporting accuracy, and financial processes Supervise and support accounting/administrative staff Required Qualifications Active CPA license required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required Strong construction accounting experience required Experience in a CFO, Controller, Director of Finance, or senior accounting leadership role Knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, percentage-of-completion accounting, and project-based financial reporting Strong understanding of cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls Ability to work closely with owners, project managers, accounting staff, vendors, and outside advisors Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and accountability Preferred Qualifications Experience with marine construction, civil construction, heavy civil, roadway, utility, concrete, or subcontractor accounting Experience with ComputerEase, Deltek, Foundation, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar construction accounting software Experience with bonding, insurance audits, workers' compensation audits, and financial reporting for contractors Prior experience helping a growing construction company improve accounting systems and financial processes
