#3616 Interim Chief Financial Officer with a commercial and residential construction company. Summary The Interim Chief Financial Officer will be a seasoned financial leader with deep roots in construction accounting and real estate development — someone who can serve as a strategic partner to ownership while driving the operational and financial rigor that growth demands. The assignment will begin immediately and is expected to last at least 3 - 6 months with the possibility to convert to a permanent position. Responsibilities Financial Management & Reporting Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions. Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Modeling Develop and manage the company's annual budget. Conduct financial forecasting and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making. Create and analyze financial models for multifamily and residential development projects, assessing costs, revenue potential, profitability, and risk factors. Compliance & Auditing Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations. Coordinate and manage internal and external audits. Maintain accurate records for tax purposes and collaborate with tax professionals as needed. Strategic Financial Planning Provide strategic insights and recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency. Collaborate with leadership to assess financial risks and opportunities. Support investment planning and decision-making for new developments and projects, utilizing financial models to evaluate feasibility and returns. Reports directly to ownership; executive-level seat at the table Full oversight of accounting, forecasting, and cash flow management Lead and manage banking and capital relationships, including land acquisition and development financing Drive job costing, WIP reporting, and project-level financial performance Active partner in evaluating new development opportunities Requirements 10+ years of financial leadership in construction, homebuilding, or real estate development Expertise in job costing, percentage-of-completion accounting, and multi-entity structures Established lender relationships and experience structuring development financing CPA, MBA, and/or degree in Finance or Accounting preferred #
