Job Description:
Position Summary The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for leading all financial functions for the real estate organization, providing strategic oversight of accounting, finance, capital markets, and operational performance. This role partners closely with ownership, executive leadership, and operations to drive financial discipline, maximize asset value, and support growth strategies across commercial and/or residential real estate portfolios. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Strategy Serve as a strategic partner to ownership and executive leadership on financial planning, capital strategy, and investment decisions Provide forward-looking financial analysis to support acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing, and development projects Drive long-term business planning, budgeting, and forecasting across the portfolio Accounting & Reporting Oversight Oversee full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and month-end/year-end close processes Ensure accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial statements Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and cash flow reporting Lead external audit, tax coordination, and lender reporting Real Estate & Property Finance Oversee portfolio-level financial performance, including NOI, lease economics, CAM reconciliations, and rent roll accuracy Partner with asset management and property operations to analyze property performance and identify opportunities for value creation Support lease structuring, escalations, and compliance in collaboration with legal and leasing teams Capital Markets & Treasury Manage relationships with lenders, investors, and external advisors Oversee debt compliance, covenant reporting, cash management, and treasury functions Lead refinancing efforts and capital stack optimization Team Leadership & Operations Lead and develop accounting and finance teams, ensuring strong internal controls and scalable processes Establish policies, procedures, and systems to support portfolio growth Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and operational efficiencies Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred) 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience within real estate Strong knowledge of real estate accounting, financial reporting, and portfolio management Experience working with ownership groups, lenders, auditors, and investors Proven leadership experience managing and developing finance teams Proficiency with real estate and accounting software (Yardi, MRI, or similar) Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills Ideal Candidate Profile Strategic yet hands-on finance leader Deep understanding of real estate operations and financial drivers Strong communicator who can translate financial data into actionable insights Comfortable operating in fast-paced, entrepreneurial, or owner-led environments All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
