Job Description

Qualified Staffing is a leading workforce solutions provider with a strong focus on outstanding customer service, and strategic growth. We operate in a fast-paced environment requiring financial discipline, cash flow management, and decisive leadership. We are seeking a strategic and operationally focused Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial health, planning, and long-term growth of our staffing organization. This role is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including cash flow management, forecasting, payroll funding strategy, margin protection, compliance, reporting, and executive decision support. The ideal candidate understands the unique financial demands of service organizations, where payroll timing, receivables management, and margin discipline directly impact business performance. Exposure to workers' compensation, unemployment, etc. would be valuable. Above all, we are seeking an ambitious contribution, a curious leader, and a performance drive. This leader will serve as a key member of the executive team, helping to drive profitability, operational efficiency, and scalable growth across the enterprise.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Leadership Lead all accounting, finance, treasury, and financial planning functions Develop and manage cash flow strategy, forecasting, and working capital planning Oversee payroll funding, banking relationships, and line of credit management Improve Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and strengthen accounts receivable performance Protect gross margin through pricing analysis, spread management, and profitability reporting Develop branch, client, and business unit profitability models Strategic Business Partnership Participate as a member of the executive leadership team Support growth planning, acquisitions, and strategic investment decisions Lead financial due diligence, valuation support, integration planning, and post-acquisition financial alignment for M&A activity Evaluate operational performance and recommend improvements across the organization Partner with sales and operations leadership to improve financial discipline and decision-making Build KPI dashboards and reporting that improve visibility and accountability Risk Management & Compliance Oversight Oversee workers' compensation strategy and unemployment cost management Ensure compliance across payroll tax, ACA, benefits, labor law, and multi-state operations Review client contracts, financial risk exposure, and co-employment considerations Maintain strong internal controls, audit readiness, and financial governance Leadership Lead and develop accounting, payroll, billing, and finance teams Improve financial processes, reporting cadence, and operational discipline Harness technology to establish scalable systems that support long-term growth
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field required CPA, MBA, or advanced financial credentials valuable Prior CFO, VP of Finance, or senior finance leadership experience valuable Staffing industry, professional services, contract labor, or payroll-intensive business experience valuable Strong understanding of payroll funding cycles, DSO management, and margin optimization Progressive financial leadership experience Experience supporting multi-location and multi-state operations Reliable, collaborative teammate Effective, transparent communicator Strategic, creative thinker Strong cash flow and working capital management mindset Data-driven decision maker High accountability and strong business judgment Ability to challenge decisions and drive financial discipline Focused on profitability, retention, and sustainable growth
