Job Description

Chief Financial Officer The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the financial oversight of all CooperRiis mental health recovery programs and central administration services. The CFO supervises and oversees the functions of the financial team and collaborates with the Executive Team to optimize programs through strategic initiatives, revenue expansion, and expense control plans, quality improvement and staff development.

Asheville & Mill Spring, NC Schedule:
Monday•Friday 8-5 pm Additional support/consultation as needed in the evenings and weekends
Responsibilities:
Communicates and collaborates with all staff, CooperRiis Board of Directors, supports, donors, residents and families, and referral sources regarding financial and administrative services Provides financial oversight of all programs, including staffing levels, program costs, and administration, monitors utilization levels and length of stay indicators Prepares the annual budget and presents financial updates and forecasts to the Board of Directors, links budgets to strategic goals of the organization Assists in the negotiation of contracts, leases, and/or other agreements with independent contractors, outside agencies, suppliers, and other entities providing goods and/or services Reviews all accounts payable invoices, and determines accounts payable funding, payroll biweekly, quarterly 941's and yearly W2, expense reports in Concur, semi-annual sales and use tax refunds, monthly sales and use tax returns, journal entries and bank/credit card reconciliations Retirement plan administer with biweekly review related to new deferrals, works with TPA on the compliance packet and supports the retirement plan audit Provides information for all financial audits Provides monthly budget reports to departments to facilitate management of routine expenses, provides training in budgetary management for department supervisors Identifies opportunities for increased efficiencies and new revenue streams Serves as a member of the Executive Team and participates in organizational planning, decision-making, risk management, and quality improvement efforts, informs and advises the Executive Team and Board of Directors on financial matters Incorporates new requirements and systems into operations and policies, including those identified through CARF accreditation, conducts annual policy review, and maintains organizational compliance with federal, state, and local legislation pertaining to financial management Collaborates with Executive Team and other senior management on the financial planning of new or expanding programs
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field, Master's degree or CPA preferred Minimum of 5 years financial management and supervisory experience Experience working in non-profit organizations or community-oriented settings Proficiency in financial software and tools, including Intact, Concur, ADP, with advanced Excel skills Understanding of and experience working with insurance, claims and billing Effective analytical skills, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey financial information to diverse audiences Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with staff, board members, and external partners
Salary:
$85,000•$104,550 per year, based on experience with no CPA $107,000•$131,860 per year, based on experience with
