Job Description

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Executive Summary We are seeking a strategic, commercially-minded, and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial operations. As a major distribution company, our success relies on efficient supply chain logistics, robust inventory management, and optimized capital structure. The ideal candidate will not only possess masterful control over corporate finance but will also bring deep expertise in structuring, negotiating, and managing Asset-Based Lending (ABL) facilities . You will serve as a key strategic partner to the CEO and Board, ensuring our financial strategy directly supports our aggressive growth and operational efficiency goals. Key Responsibilities Strategic Financial Leadership Partner with the CEO and executive team to drive the company's long-term strategic plan, business models, and expansion initiatives. Provide actionable macro-level financial insights to optimize profitability, working capital, and operational efficiency across multiple distribution centers. Capital Structure & ABL Management Directly oversee and optimize the company's Asset-Based Lending (ABL) facility, ensuring maximum liquidity tied to eligible accounts receivable and inventory. Manage relationships with syndicate banks, appraisers, field examiners, and legal counsel. Ensure strict compliance with all ABL covenants, reporting requirements, borrowing base certificates, and lookback periods. Strategically forecast liquidity needs to navigate seasonal inventory builds and supply chain fluctuations. Financial Operations & Controls Oversee all financial functions, including accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, and internal audit. Enhance monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes to deliver timely, accurate, and GAAP-compliant results. Refine inventory valuation methods (e.g., LIFO/FIFO), cycle counting financial audits, and shrink-reduction strategies. Upgrade and optimize financial tech stacks and ERP systems to improve automated reporting and data integrity. Role Requirements Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA and/or CPA designation is highly preferred. 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 3-5 years in a CFO or VP of Finance role within the distribution, wholesale, logistics, or manufacturing sectors. Proven track record of managing substantial ABL facilities (e.g., $50M+) is a strict requirement. Candidates must demonstrate a deep understanding of borrowing base mechanics, inventory appraisals, and lender audits.
Skills & Competencies Distribution Expertise:
Deep knowledge of supply chain economics, freight/logistics costing, and high-volume inventory management.
Commercially Astute:
Ability to look beyond the spreadsheet to understand operational bottlenecks and opportunities.
Exceptional Communication:
Proven ability to present complex financial data clearly to the Board, private equity investors (if applicable), and lending institutions.
Leadership:
