Job Description

Chief Financial Officer Cincinnati, OH Apply for this job Centennial is seeking a strategic, forward‑thinking Chief Financial Officer to serve as a key member of the executive leadership team and trusted advisor to ownership. This CFO will shape the long‑term financial and operational direction of a diversified portfolio of companies, including two multi‑location commercial furniture dealerships, a related service company and an ATM installation company. The CFO will drive enterprise value creation, strengthen financial and operational performance, modernize systems and infrastructure, and ensure the organization is positioned for long‑term scalability and succession. This role requires a leader who can balance strategic vision with hands‑on execution in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment. What You'll Lead Enterprise Leadership & Strategic Finance Partner with ownership and executive leadership to execute the long‑term strategic and financial vision. Serve as a trusted advisor to the business owner; collaborate with family advisors (wealth, tax, legal) to align company performance with long‑term goals and succession planning. Lead enterprise‑wide financial strategy, including forecasting, scenario modeling, capital planning, and liquidity strategy. Provide strategic insight for expansions, major investments, and operational transformation initiatives. Drive enterprise performance management through KPIs, analytics, modeling, and operational reporting. Evaluate organizational structure, scalability, and operational efficiency to support sustainable growth. Lead financial risk assessment, strategic planning, and business continuity initiatives. Support the evolution of governance practices and leadership infrastructure across the enterprise. Financial Stewardship & Operational Excellence Provide executive oversight of all financial operations, accounting, reporting, treasury, and compliance across multiple entities. Ensure timely, accurate, decision‑oriented financial reporting for leadership and ownership. Establish scalable financial processes, internal controls, and operational disciplines. Lead cash flow strategy, working capital optimization, and banking relationships. Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, legal counsel, lenders, and financial partners. Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax, and fiduciary requirements while maintaining strong governance. Enterprise Infrastructure & Technology Leadership Oversee enterprise technology strategy, systems infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. Ensure technology investments support growth, scalability, and reporting sophistication. Champion process improvement and systems modernization initiatives. Leadership & Organizational Development Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance, Accounting, and IT teams. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer service, and continuous improvement. Build scalable processes and systems to support future growth. Partner with operational leaders across business units to improve performance and decision‑making. Maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality in all matters involving ownership and sensitive business information.  Who You Are A strategic, trusted, and operationally fluent financial leader who: Balances long‑term vision with hands‑on execution. Understands how finance drives enterprise value and organizational performance. Leads change and builds scalable infrastructure, systems, and teams. Thrives in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment while bringing structure and discipline. Navigates the dynamics of a privately held, family‑owned organization with professionalism and discretion. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required. CPA and/or MBA preferred. 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally within a mid‑sized, privately held, or family‑owned business. Experience overseeing financial operations for multiple entities or business units preferred. Strong knowledge of FP&A, accounting operations, cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial leadership. Experience overseeing IT functions, technology vendors, cybersecurity, and business systems preferred. Experience managing an ERP system conversion strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to balance strategic leadership with hands‑on operational involvement. Strong communication, analytical, leadership, and relationship‑building skills. High degree of integrity, business acumen, and sound judgment. Proficiency with ERP systems, financial software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Apply for this job
