Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - GovCon /
Manufacturing Location:
Hybrid (Detroit preferred; DC candidates open with occasional travel)
Compensation:
Market (target $125-150/hr)

2-3 months Overview Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is partnering with a private equity-backed organization seeking an experienced Interim CFO to support a portfolio company operating in the government contracting and manufacturing space. This role requires a hands-on leader who can stabilize operations, provide strategic oversight, and address immediate system and reporting challenges while supporting a multi-entity environment. Key Responsibilities Provide hands-on financial leadership and oversight of the existing accounting team Stabilize operations and improve team structure, delegation, and performance Ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality financial reporting across entities Diagnose issues related to a recent Costpoint system conversion and implement a recovery plan Oversee financial operations in a multi-entity, acquisition-driven environment Qualifications CFO-level experience with a strong operational, hands-on approach Background in government contracting (GovCon) and manufacturing environments Costpoint expertise required (including system optimization or conversions) Proven ability to lead and stabilize teams during periods of transition Experience working in private equity-backed or acquisition-driven environments preferred Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly assess and remediate financial and system challenges Additional Details Hybrid role with preference for Detroit-based candidates DC-area candidates considered if willing to travel initially Immediate need with a quick ramp-up expected IND4
