Job Description

Our client is seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic financial leadership for a nonprofit organization in the Chattanooga, TN area. This long-term contract opportunity is well-suited for a hands-on finance executive who can lead day-to-day financial operations while guiding long-term financial strategy, reporting improvements, and organizational planning.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead the organization's overall financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning aligned with mission-driven objectivesOversee cash flow, liquidity, and capital utilization to support ongoing financial stability and sustainabilityDirect the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements for leadership and board reportingEnhance financial reporting processes to provide meaningful insights into performance, trends, and risk areasEvaluate and oversee accounting systems and financial infrastructure, including supporting potential ERP/system transitions (e.g., Microsoft Great Plains)Partner with executive leadership to assess financial implications of strategic initiatives, funding decisions, and operational prioritiesStrengthen internal controls, financial policies, and compliance procedures in alignment with nonprofit best practicesCollaborate cross-functionally to improve financial transparency, planning discipline, and organizational efficiency
