Job Description:
What You'll Own End-to-end freight loss, damage, and shortage claims - intake through resolution Direct negotiation with carriers and their cargo insurance adjusters and third-party claims administrators Contingent cargo insurance coordination, and subrogation pursuit Monthly claims reporting to management: aging, recovery rates, carrier patterns What We're Looking For 5+ years of freight claims experience - broker, 3PL, or motor carrier environment Working knowledge of the Carmack Amendment (49 U.S.C. § 14706) and cargo liability principles Direct insurance adjuster negotiation experience Ability to interpret carrier and customer contracts and a cargo COI for coverage gaps FMCSA regulatory knowledge: carrier authority, insurance requirements, broker obligations TMS proficiency Strong written communication - claim letters and denial responses drafted without attorney review on routine matters
