The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, and able to effectively manage claims from initial assignment through settlement while maintaining professionalism and urgency throughout the process. Key Responsibilities Claims Oversight & Strategy Manage residential and commercial property claims through resolution. Develop and execute claim strategies that maximize recovery under applicable policy terms. Analyze policy language, exclusions, endorsements, and limits to identify all available coverages. Ensure claims are supported by accurate scopes, estimates, inventories, photographs, and expert reports. Monitor claims timelines and proactively addresses delays, denials, and payments. Estimating, Construction & Technical Experience Review and approve detailed repair estimates using Xactimate. Apply strong working knowledge of construction methods, materials, and repair sequencing to validate scopes of loss. Evaluate and reconcile contractors, carriers, and expert estimates. Identify missed line items, code upgrades, and scope gaps impacting claim value. Team Leadership & Performance Work with claims support staff for claims resolution. Act as point of contact for licensed public adjuster. Provide coaching and training related to estimating, documentation, and negotiation. Ensure compliance with internal SOPs and state public adjusting regulations. Carrier, Client & Stakeholder Communication Draft and review clear, persuasive, and well-supported claim correspondence, including demand letters, rebuttals, reconsideration requests, and settlement position statements. Serve as the primary escalation point for disputed or complex claims. Negotiate directly with insurance carriers, independent adjusters, and management level-claim representatives. Coordinate with outside experts. Maintain professional communication with insureds, attorneys, and internal leadership. Financial & Reporting Responsibilities Track claim recoveries, supplemental payments, and fee calculations. Monitor claim performance metrics including cycle time and recovery ratios. Prepare internal reports for leadership regarding claim status, trends, and outcomes. Assist with forecasting. Compliance & Risk Management Ensuring claims comply with applicable laws, licensing requirements, ethical standards, and contractual obligations. Maintain complete and defensible claim files for litigation support. Identify operational risks and recommend process improvements.
