Miami, FL Job Details Full-time $18 - $22 an hour 20 hours ago Benefits Paid training Paid holidays Paid time off Qualifications Productivity software Full Job Description Position Summary The Personal Injury Insurance Collections Specialist will be responsible for monitoring insurance claims, following up with carriers, tracking outstanding balances, resolving claim issues, and ensuring prompt payment of Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and related medical claims. This role is ideal for someone with experience in medical billing, insurance collections, personal injury cases, chiropractic billing, or healthcare accounts receivable. Responsibilities Follow up on outstanding insurance claims and unpaid balances. Verify receipt of submitted bills and supporting documentation. Contact insurance adjusters regarding claim status. Review explanations of benefits (EOBs) and payment determinations. Identify and appeal underpayments, denials, and reductions. Track claim filing deadlines and payment timelines. Communicate with providers, attorneys, and insurance carriers as needed. Maintain detailed notes and documentation of collection efforts. Generate reports on outstanding accounts receivable. Assist with identifying billing trends and opportunities to improve collections. Work closely with management to maximize reimbursement. Qualifications Required Minimum 2 years of medical billing or insurance collections experience. Strong understanding of healthcare insurance claims. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to manage a high-volume workload and prioritize tasks. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and billing software. Preferred Experience with Florida Personal Injury Protection (PIP) claims. Experience working with chiropractic, medical, rehabilitation, or accident clinics. Familiarity with insurance carriers such as GEICO, Progressive, State Farm, Allstate, Kemper, USAA, and others. Experience reviewing EOBs and appealing denials. Knowledge of Florida No-Fault/PIP regulations. Experience communicating with attorneys and adjusters.
