MEDICAL BILLING AND COLLECTIONS SPECIALIST

Patriot All Pro Physical Therapy Centers is an established and growing physical therapy practice with over 25 years of experience specializing in Personal Injury, Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA), PIP, Workers' Compensation, and Orthopedic Rehabilitation. We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Medical Billing & Collections Specialist to join our team and support our growing practice. This position plays a vital role in ensuring efficient reimbursement, accurate billing, and strong communication with insurance carriers, attorneys, and patients. Position Responsibilities The Medical Billing & Collections Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of medical billing, payment posting, collections, and claim resolution, including: Insurance Billing & Claims Processing Prepare and submit clean electronic claims to insurance carriers Process and reconcile insurance claims, payments, denials, and adjustments Ensure proper claim documentation and timely submission Perform electronic claim processing and claim management Review, identify, and resolve claim errors, rejections, and denials Perform claim corrections and resubmissions in accordance with payer guidelines Maintain accurate billing records and supporting documentation Insurance Verification & Authorizations Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage Obtain and manage prior authorizations when required Confirm patient insurance information and policy requirements Denial Management & Collections Follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and outstanding balances Manage denial and appeal processes to maximize reimbursement Handle appeals, corrections, and claim resubmissions Post insurance and patient payments accurately Monitor accounts receivable and collection activity Address patient billing inquiries and payment concerns professionally Patient & Attorney Communication Communicate with insurance companies and patients regarding claim status and balances Work directly with attorney offices regarding personal injury cases Submit liens and provide attorney offices with patient balance information Maintain professional and timely communication with all parties involved Qualifications Minimum 1 year of medical billing and collections experience preferred Physical therapy office experience strongly preferred Experience with: Insurance verification and authorizations Electronic claim submission and payment posting Denial management and appeals Patient billing and collections Experience with Automobile Insurance / PIP carriers is highly desirable Knowledge of CPT/ICD coding and payer guidelines Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Why Join Patriot All Pro?
