Job Description

Step into a meaningful role as a Bilingual Labor Law Investigator with the Department of Labor and Industry, where your efforts will help ensure that workers across Pennsylvania and their rights are protected. This position offers you the chance to uphold important labor standards by utilizing your technical investigative or construction and trades experience while engaging directly with people, businesses, and communities. As a Bilingual Labor Law Investigator, you will support the enforcement of Pennsylvania labor laws through investigations, education, and collaboration with workers and employers. This involves performing the following duties:
Complaint Review:
Examine incoming complaints and determine appropriate next steps
Gather Evidence:
Analyze payroll records, timecards, and related materials for compliance; conduct onsite inspections and interviews to verify potential violations
Communication:
Write letters to and facilitate conferences with claimants and employers to resolve issues, including speaking and writing in
Spanish Case Preparation:
Prepare detailed reports, maintain case records and summaries, and testify as an expert witness in court when needed
Public Education:
Inform contractors, employees, officials, and the public about labor law requirements Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description .
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
Telework:
This position is home headquartered. In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of technical investigative or construction and trades experience and a bachelor's degree; or Two years of technical investigative or construction and trades experience and an associate's degree in a field related to investigative or construction and trades work; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
You must be able to fluently speak and write in Spanish. You must possess and maintain federally compliant identification such as a U.S. Passport, REAL ID, or Military ID. Proof of possession will be needed at the time of a conditional offer of employment. You must live in or be willing to move to the geographic region the Harrisburg District Office covers by date of hire. Expenses will not be paid.

Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York. You must demonstrate ability to adhere to the values and ethics of the Department of Labor & Industry. You must demonstrate ability to work with professionalism, discretion, and good work ethic. You must have solid written and verbal communication skills. You must show initiative and problem solving skill. You must be able to perform essential job functions. Preferred Qualifications (not required): Experience in conducting investigations or working in construction and trades, business management, financial services, accounting, or conflict resolution An associate's degree or greater, in a field related to investigative work in construction and trades, business management, financial services, accounting, or conflict resolution Experience enforcing labor standards or labor and employment laws Experience testifying at administrative or court hearings How to
