We are looking for a Property Adjuster (Field & Desk) . The Property Adjuster is responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving residential and commercial property claims through a combination of field inspections and desk-based claim handling activities. This role manages claims from first notice of loss through final resolution while ensuring compliance with policy provisions, regulatory requirements, client expectations, and company quality standards. The position requires strong technical adjusting knowledge, customer service skills, and the ability to effectively balance onsite inspections with remote claim management responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Manage a caseload of property claims from assignment through closure. Conduct coverage analysis and determine compensability based on policy language and applicable guidelines. Perform onsite inspections for residential and commercial property losses, including but not limited to fire, water, wind, hail, theft, and catastrophic events. Assess and document property damage through photographs, diagrams, measurements, and detailed claim notes. Prepare and review repair estimates utilizing industry-standard estimating platforms. Investigate cause and origin details and identify potential fraud indicators when applicable. Evaluate damages and establish accurate claim reserves. Negotiate settlements with policyholders, contractors, public adjusters, attorneys, and other involved parties. Coordinate with vendors, engineers, mitigation providers, and other experts as needed. Maintain timely and accurate claim documentation in accordance with client and regulatory standards. Perform desk-based claim handling activities including coverage review, estimate review, file management, correspondence, and payment processing. Ensure service level agreement (SLA) compliance and quality expectations are consistently met. Provide professional and empathetic customer service throughout the claim lifecycle. Communicate claim status, coverage determinations, and settlement information clearly and effectively. Respond to inquiries from insureds, clients, agents, and vendors within established timeframes. Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Adhere to all company policies, client requirements, and state regulatory guidelines. Maintain appropriate licensing and continuing education requirements. Support quality assurance initiatives and participate in file reviews as needed. Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to operational excellence initiatives. Skills, knowledge & expertise 3+ years of property claims adjusting experience. Experience independently handling both field and desk property claims. Proficiency with estimating software and claims management systems. Demonstrated expertise handling large-loss, complex, or litigated claims. Experience mentoring or supporting junior adjusters preferred. Knowledge of residential and commercial property claims handling practices. Understanding of policy interpretation and coverage analysis. Strong investigation, negotiation, and analytical skills. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Proficiency with Xactimate and other industry-standard claims platforms preferred. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Active adjuster license(s) as required by jurisdiction. Ability to obtain reciprocal licenses as needed. Xactimate certification preferred. Combination of field, office, and remote work environments. Frequent travel within assigned territory may be required. Ability to inspect damaged properties, including climbing ladders, walking uneven terrain, and working in adverse weather conditions. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required based on business needs and catastrophe events. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally. Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and drive for extended periods. Ability to use a computer and mobile technology for prolonged periods.
