The Department of Labor & Industries is seeking a Program Support Supervisor 2 within the Claims Administration program/IME unit. This position is responsible for ensuring that the work of unit is completed in a timely, efficient manner and meets the established performance expectations of the unit. Independent Medical Exam scheduling is an essential service to Claims Administration. The exams ensure injured workers receive appropriate medical treatment and are essential for reducing claims cost and time loss duration. This position provides leadership to the Centralized Scheduling Unit responsible for coordinating statewide Independent Medical Examinations (IME's) for state fund claims. This role is essential to the unit as it provides leadership, technical support and acts as a liaison between the schedules, Claim Managers, and providers. For this position, telework is permitted part time (one day in office per week). The assigned duty station for this position is Tumwater, Washington . For positions where in-office work is necessary, the frequency of telework will be discussed with the supervisor of the position at the time of offer. Some of what you'll do: Coordinates and directs Program Coordinators who are responsible for statewide independent Medical Exam scheduling. Coaches and mentors staff by reviewing workloads, work assignments, potential barriers or problems to meet deadlines. Develop reports and presentations and deliver to management and community partners. Provide testimony on team practice and process as required. Communicates via phone, email, mail, and speaks to large groups when necessary. Uses and properly interprets RCWs and WACs to ensure the application's business requirements are met. Ensure team meets its performance expectations and takes corrective action when necessary. Train, monitor, and assist team members to meet their individual performance goals. Establish and implement performance goals and expectations. Ensure team coverage so that performance goals are not adversely impacted. Monitor compliance with agency goals and core competencies. Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures when needed. Resolves and mediates disputes. Conducts annual, probationary and trial service performance evaluations, coaches, counsels and evaluates the performance of unit staff. Manage personnel issues such as; leave requests, disciplinary actions, FMLA. Conducts investigations of injuries, near misses, and threats to department staff and completes incident reports and reports to manager. Uses computer applications to track and research information. Required:
High school diploma or equivalent AND Three years of applicable experience in the program specialty (Insurance, Claims, Customer Service/call center, Legal, Healthcare) AND Ability to type 40 words per minute, accounting for errors, with a 5-minute typing assessment . Desired:
Six months' supervisory or lead experience Six months' experience in a L&I Claims Support Unit. Six months' experience in a call-center environment. Intermediate level experience using Microsoft Suite applications, including WORD, EXCEL, and Outlook. Ability to access and move between multiple computer programs; databases; word processing, imaging systems, and internet to enter and update information.
