Job Description

JOB OBJECTIVE
Performs engineering and administrative duties associated with the City's compliance activities mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP); reviews civil plans of proposed subdivisions and commercial developments to ensure compliance with all applicable master plans, manuals and ordinances. This position is not designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is not subject to random drug and alcohol screening. For a complete list of essential job functions please click HERE. These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, one (1) year of experience in Civil Engineering including experience in floodplain management or National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) compliance experience or related area, and one (1) year of supervisory experience. Preferred ability to speak fluently in both English and Spanish. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess certification as a Flood Plain Manager in the State of Arkansas within one (1) year of employment; must maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position. Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position. Must possess International Code Council (ICC) certifications (B3) in the State of Arkansas within one (1) year of employment; must maintain certifications for the duration of employment in this position.
