Director of Compliance and Quality Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of experience in a job-related field. Must be able to utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and EMR. Must be able to pass a background check. Must posses a AZ Level 1 fingerprint card. Must be at least 21 years old.
Other Skills:
Must maintain flexibility in a fast-paced changing environment.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Compliance and Quality (DCQ), under the direction of the Executive Director and Regional Compliance & Quality Officer, is responsible for the program's overall compliance with all regulatory requirements and quality of programs and services. The DCQ works closely with all departments at the program to ensure that their specific department meets regulatory requirements and continues to provide high quality services to the program's residents. The DCQ will train, monitor, and alert leadership regarding compliance and quality issues within their respective areas. The DCQ will serve as a program Management Team member and will work closely with all departments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Audit, track, review, and monitor the progress of all regulatory, accreditation, and contract requirements for the program. Facilitate all outside systems audits and incident reporting, including Incident Accident and Death (IAD) reports to AHCCS, Seclusion and Restraint (SAR) reports to Managed Care Organizations, and other contractually or regulatory required reports. Ensure all Sentinel Event and Tier 1 and 2 notifications occur internally and externally in a timely manner. Oversee a complete and through record of all compliance activities in the Healthicity System. Coordinate response to all correspondence from Managed Care Organizations and other regulatory bodies, including Quality of Care Investigations, Letters of Inquiry, and other requests for information and/or response. Coordinate, implement, and monitor the completion of Corrective Action Plans. Facilitate investigations into allegations of licensing violations. Assist in all mandated and additional training. Research and have knowledge of changes in regulatory requirements/policies relevant to operations and inform relevant departments and the Executive Director of those changes. Direct the maintenance and annual updates of the program's Policy and Procedure Manual. Participate in the business development process in order to contribute towards the compliance aspect of the project(s). Responsible for the auditing of records to ensure compliance with regulations and contracts, as well as for all internal and third-party reporting of incidents. Conduct at hire, annual, and ad hoc compliance training, while ensuring compliance training is tracked to ensure completion. Organize and Chair all monthly Performance Improvement Meetings, as well as report on compliance items, and follow up with Leadership to ensure completion of all tasks. Monitor the compliance and quality of incident documentation. Manage the client grievance process. Responsible for the remote quality monitoring of security cameras. The DCQ will assume other specified compliance roles as required by specific regulatory oversight entities, including, but not limited to, the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Officer, HIPAA Privacy Officer, and Civil Rights Coordinator for the program. Have a clear and practical understanding of all federal, state and local laws as it pertains to daily living. Have a clear and practical understanding of all pertinent accreditation standards. Meet all deadlines as required. All other duties as assigned.
