This position requires a minimum of 70% presence on the shop floor and acts as an enforcement authority to ensure all issues are identified, tracked, escalated, and fully resolved. The role reports directly to the Plant Manager and maintains full ownership of compliance systems, permits, the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), and overall operational discipline across the plant. Safety Leadership & Enforcement
- Enforce all safety policies, PPE requirements, and company procedures.
- Identify unsafe behaviors and correct immediately.
- Develop and conduct safety training programs.
- Conduct new hire safety orientation and safety meetings.
- Maintain OSHA compliance and enforce safety regulations.
- Own and maintain the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), including updates, audits, and enforcement. Quality Control, Customer Complaints & Corrective Actions
- Monitor production quality and ensure compliance with BOMs and work instructions.
- Identify defects and enforce containment of non-conforming products.
- Track scrap, rework, and recurring quality issues.
- Receive, track, and manage customer complaints.
- Coordinate investigation of quality issues related to complaints.
- Ensure immediate containment actions are implemented.
- Support and follow up on root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D or equivalent).
- Maintain documentation and communication related to quality issues and complaints.
- Perform and verify receiving material inspections. Production Audit & Reporting Oversight
- Audit production processes and reporting accuracy.
- Verify production personnel complete reports properly.
- Track output, downtime, scrap, and gaps.
- Maintain daily production reports.
- Report issues to management daily. Regulatory Compliance & Permits
- Ensure full compliance with all facility permits and regulatory requirements, including:
- Backflow testing (all locations), CUPA / hazardous waste compliance, pallet yard permit, motor carrier permit, water discharge (SMART), used oil and hazardous waste disposal, and fire sprinkler inspections.
- Track, renew, and maintain all permits and certifications.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and vendors.
- Maintain complete, audit-ready documentation.
- Ensure zero missed deadlines or compliance gaps. Facility, Materials & Risk Management
- Maintain
SDS/MSDS
documentation.- Review and approve new materials.
- Support customer questionnaires.
- Ensure hazardous material compliance.
- Monitor facility risks and corrective actions.
- Ensure fire systems and safety equipment compliance. Inventory & Supplies
- Order and maintain necessary office supplies and PPE.
- Ensure availability and proper condition of required PPE. General Responsibilities
- Report directly to the Plant Manager.
- Maintain minimum 70% presence on the shop floor.
- Act as enforcement authority for safety, quality, and compliance standards.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by management. Minimum Requirements
- 2-5 years manufacturing experience.
- Strong enforcement mindset and ability to hold personnel accountable.
- Highly detail-oriented and organized.
- Experience with manufacturing environment and compliance systems.
- Working knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations.
- Advanced Excel skills required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
