Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced RN or LPN to join our team serving children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. This position plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the health, safety, and regulatory compliance of our programs while supporting individuals with complex behavioral and medical needs. Our population includes individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, mood disorders, schizophrenia, intellectual disabilities, and other behavioral and developmental conditions. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced behavioral health and residential environment. Position Responsibilities Provide medical guidance to staff regarding workplace injuries, including first aid and advising when outside medical evaluation may be needed Participate in on-call consultation for urgent medical, medication, or health-related concerns within residential programs Oversee and coordinate all medical and nursing-related services for residential clients Ensure compliance with all applicable state regulations, including Florida Administrative Code 65G-7 and 65G-2 Maintain oversight of medication administration systems, medication records, physician orders, and overall medical documentation Review and monitor client medical charts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance Coordinate medical appointments, follow-up care, and communication with physicians, pharmacies, guardians, and interdisciplinary teams Assist with development and implementation of nursing policies, procedures, and staff training programs Obtain and maintain certification as an APD Medication Administration Trainer (or willingness to obtain certification) Conduct medication administration trainings for new hires and annual re-validations for existing staff Participate in internal audits, quality assurance reviews, and agency compliance initiatives Provide guidance and support to residential staff regarding medical and behavioral health concerns Assist with incident reviews, health-related investigations, and corrective action planning when necessary Qualifications Current Florida RN or LPN license in good standing Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs preferred Knowledge of residential services and regulatory compliance preferred Familiarity with Florida Administrative Codes 65G-7 and 65G-2 strongly preferred, or willingness to become proficient Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills Ability to train, mentor, and support direct care staff Experience with medication administration systems and medical documentation Valid driver's license and ability to travel between residential locations as needed Preferred Experience Residential group home or APD service experience Experience with behavioral or psychiatric populations Prior supervisory or leadership experience Experience conducting trainings or staff education We are looking for someone who is not only clinically knowledgeable, but also compassionate, adaptable, and committed to improving the quality of life for the individuals we serve.
