Job Description

YOU MUST BE A CURRENT METRO GOVT. OCHD EMPLOYEE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION
Summary Objective The purpose of this position is to evaluate operations and procedures for consistency, effectiveness, and compliance to state and federal laws, recommends modifications and improvements. This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary. Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals. Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed. Supervises review of audit findings and develops and implements corrective action plans. Coordinates preparation of metro allocation plans and cost reports. Supervises departmental compliance reviews of grant files and documentation to ensure adherence to applicable regulatory requirements. Coordinates federal audits and other funding source audits and reviews. Represents the department to governmental agencies, grant funding agencies and the public to provide information and answer questions concerning grant programs, budget, activities and policies and procedures. Identifies and implements process improvements. Participates in preparing grant applications. Conducts training needs assessment, develops training curriculum, trains employees, and provides technical assistance and instruction. Compiles data and prepares reports, documents and correspondence, and completes special projects. Develops and maintains communication and effective working relationships with metro departments and external agencies and organizations. Performs related work as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, Business or Public Administration or related discipline. Five (5) years of accounting, finance, budget preparation, budget analysis, financial analysis or internal controls compliance experience.
EQUIVALENCY
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement. Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
