Job Description

Transforming Insurance Shopping Through Data and Technology Empowering Consumer Connections in a Dynamic Marketplace EverQuote seeks a seasoned Senior Counsel, Litigation & Marketing Compliance to join its in-house legal team. This critical role combines oversight of complex litigation matters with leadership of a best-in-class marketing compliance program, directly supporting EverQuote's mission to connect consumers and insurance providers through a results-driven, technology-powered marketplace. The Senior Counsel will manage active litigation, including class actions and regulatory investigations, by directing outside counsel, developing litigation strategy, and maintaining accurate risk reporting. In parallel, the role owns the company's marketing compliance program—ensuring adherence to TCPA, CAN-SPAM, FCC, and state-level consumer protection statutes. Responsibilities include monitoring regulatory developments, conducting compliance reviews, and delivering training to internal stakeholders. Candidates should bring a J.D. from an accredited law school, active bar membership, and at least 7 years of relevant legal experience, including significant time in consumer protection law and complex litigation management. Deep expertise in digital and direct marketing compliance, strong judgment, and excellent communication skills are essential. Experience in the insurance regulatory environment, prior in-house roles, and familiarity with privacy laws and marketing automation tools are valued.
