This is a position specific recruitment. The resulting certified eligible list may be used to staff several current and future vacancies for this position/function only. This is a Management Service position. The incumbent will serve at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority. GRADE 26 LOCATION
OF POSITION
Baltimore, MD POSITION DUTIES This position directs the entirety of the Compliance Division. In this role, the director will create and follow through on strategic plans for the division that are in-line with the Deputy Comptroller and Comptroller's visions while also ensuring that daily operations of the division are meeting various standards. The division is generally directed to drivepliance with State tax laws through enforcement and collection efforts. Efforts to drivepliance should be applied equitably to the public and should ensure that all tax types and business sizes are proportionately impacted.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience:
Seven years of experience in banking, financial operations, treasury services, or a similar business environment. Three years in a senior leadership role Two years of experience with federal or state tax law and administration •For education obtained outside of the U.S. you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service. If you possess a degree obtained outside of the United States, please submit a detailed, course-by-course evaluation report from one of the U.S. equivalence evaluating members identified at naces.org/members.html.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors' or Masters' Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information systems, or a related field. MBA Strongly preferred. Experience with CRM platform and knowledge of auditing/collections systems Experience working with software development processes related to financial operations Proven track record of managing high-volume, high-value transaction environments, with experience managing audit processes and internal controls Strong people management and cross-functional leadership skills as well as strongmunication skills Demonstrated ability to lead large operational teams and drive process improvements Excellent strategic thinking and crisis management capabilities
