Position Overview:
As a key player in our Plant Biotechnology team, you are responsible for assisting with the implementation of the Plant Biotechnology Compliance strategy globally. Your role is crucial in enabling the pipeline and testing of seeds, traits, chemistry, and seed treatment products, while securing our License to Operate (LTO) and preventing disruption to our customers, communities, and consumers. You will lead critical compliance projects in alignment with key stakeholders, ensuring sustainable operations through the implementation of internal corporate and Plant Biotechnology level policies and procedures.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Execute the Global Plant Biotechnology Trait Quality strategy and implementation plan to drive product development. + Ensure availability, maintain and further develop processes and tools to keep the business compliant with requirements of internal and external R D Quality processes, partners and authorities + Assessment of possible quality risks of processes, tools, documents etc. + Set and apply state of the art R D quality measures + Communication of process relevant changes + Support training to relevant employees + Develop and execute testing plans for new Trait Quality digital solutions + Auditing to Stewardship and quality policies + Partner with Regulatory and functions across Bayer to advance and implement Corporate-level Trait Quality policies and procedures. + Partner with Plant Biotechnology teams to develop and implement functional level policies and procedures in alignment with the Global Trait Quality Program. + Implement firewall testing strategies in alignment with key functional and business partners + Identify process improvement initiatives and leads change using quality philosophies such as TQM, Lean, and Six Sigma + Address Stewardship incidents, perform root cause analysis, and proactively mitigate process risks + Partner across functions to enable compliant material movement, including transfer approvals in and out of Plant Biotech and application of global seed movement strategies for the organization. + Participate in Phase 3 audits to support product hand-off to Regulatory + Ensures trait quality policies and procedures are followed, manages trait quality incidents for plant biotechnology
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: + Bachelor of Science in life science or similar education with 7 years of experience with Regulatory agency compliance, or PhD with 1-2 years of experience; + Minimum 7 years of experience in plant breeding and/or molecular laboratory environment; + Experience with Compliance and/or Trait Quality; + Good knowledge of R D business practices and processes; + Project Management skills; + Strong interpersonal and good communication skills; + Understanding of Regulatory processes such as permits, confined trials, and laboratory compliance, and quality systems such as
ISO 9001
2015; + Project management experience with the ability to drive projects to completion while working under tight timelines; + Excellent oral and written communication skills; + Ability to work in a matrix environment, leading and influencing people at varying levels of responsibility; + Ability to excel in ambiguous environments, thinking objectively and leveraging information to develop corporate strategies and guidelines that effectively balance compliance and operations; + Proficient in Bayer's enterprise data management and analysis software; + Experience leading IT strategies and building solutions to meet changing business needs; + Experience with LEAN philosophies and/or Six Sigma methodologies. Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $92,960.00 - $139,440.00Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
