At OPPD, this is not a maintenance role. It is an opportunity to own and shape enterprise-wide reliability compliance strategy, influence executive decision-making, and lead a high-performing team with a strong foundation already in place. You will step into a position with visibility across the organization, direct interaction with regulators, and the ability to strengthen and evolve compliance programs that impact the entire business. This role is ideal for someone who wants to lead, influence, and elevate compliance, not just manage it. What You Will Own Lead and direct all aspects of NERC Reliability Standards compliance across OPPD Serve as the primary compliance contact with NERC and the Midwest Reliability Organization (MRO) Own and evolve OPPD's Internal Compliance Program, including audits, mitigation, and readiness Provide enterprise-wide oversight of compliance practices across operations, engineering, and strategy Lead audit strategy, including preparation, execution, and regulatory response Drive proactive compliance strategies to anticipate regulatory changes and reduce organizational risk Partner with senior leadership to provide clear, actionable insights on compliance risks and performance Lead and develop a high-performing compliance team aligned to strategic priorities Oversee and expand OPPD's Compliance Governance Program, strengthening enterprise risk visibility and controls Why This Role Enterprise impact

We are focused on identifying individuals who bring deep expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to operate at a strategic level within a utility environment. This role is critical to OPPD's reliability and regulatory success and will play a key role in shaping future compliance strategy.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, finance, or other business-related area. Excellent written and verbal communications skills Ten (10) years of electric industry experience in engineering, operations or NERC Compliance Familiarity and experience with the full set of NERC Reliability Standards, the NERC standard development process, and experience with interfacing with regulatory staff. Possession of a broad base of knowledge and experience in utility strategy, operations, engineering disciplines, transmission and resource planning, and physical/cyber security. Acquire and maintain NERC Access to OPPD applicable facilities
Desired:
Knowledgeable of the functions of operating systems and equipment in transmission controls centers, power generation stations, and substations. Familiarity with the Federal rule making processes Working knowledge of the engineering concepts associated with the operation of an electrical utility system, as well as system design and operation. 7 years of experience with NERC Compliance in a leadership position Master's Degree Demonstrated leadership of cross functional teams
Time Demands:
This role is considered a " non-essential" role, however, this role may be required to report to work to support the restoration of normal business operations. Maintain regular and predictable attendance in alignment with Departmental policy. Must maintain 24-hour availability for technical and professional assistance, emergency response, and directing remedial action in response to such emergencies, as well as maintain availability as required for on call duty.
