Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced HR Operations & Compliance Manager to join their growing manufacturing operation to assist leadership in developing policies and procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with a strong background in employment law, compliance, employee relations, and HR operations within a fast-paced industrial or manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly organized, and confident managing complex workforce matters while supporting a safe, compliant, and employee-focused workplace culture. Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including wage and hour laws, FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, employee documentation requirements, and OSHA-related workplace practices Develop, maintain, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook content aligned with manufacturing operations and legal requirements Partner with plant leadership and department managers to provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary actions, attendance issues, and policy interpretation Conduct workplace investigations related to employee complaints, safety concerns, harassment, misconduct, and policy violations while maintaining confidentiality and proper documentation Support and administer leave management, accommodations, workers' compensation claims, return-to-work programs, and other compliance-driven HR processes Maintain accurate employee records, I-9 documentation, HRIS data, and compliance reporting in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements Assist with audits, reporting, and compliance reviews related to labor laws, personnel files, safety training records, and benefits administration Manage employee benefits administration, including enrollments, employee education, vendor coordination, and issue resolution Support full-cycle recruiting efforts for hourly and salaried positions, including sourcing, interviewing, onboarding, and ensuring compliant hiring practices Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs focused on workplace safety, company policies, operational procedures, and employee engagement Collaborate with operations leadership to support workforce planning, retention strategies, and employee engagement initiatives in a production environment Assist in developing and improving HR processes, systems, and infrastructure to support operational growth and workforce scalability Support training initiatives related to compliance, workplace conduct, safety, and supervisory best practices Foster a positive, team-oriented culture that promotes accountability, communication, safety, and operational excellence Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience will be considered Minimum of three years of HR experience, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or production environment Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, employee relations, wage and hour regulations, and workplace investigations Experience supporting hourly workforces, shift-based operations, and high-volume recruiting preferred Working knowledge of OSHA requirements, workers' compensation processes, and manufacturing workplace practices strongly preferred Ability to handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment Strong communication, conflict resolution, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
