Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness, the State Authorization and Licensure Compliance Coordinator serves as the University's primary operational resource for multi-state authorization, professional licensure oversight, and clinical compliance - ensuring the University meets federal, state, and accreditor requirements as it expands online and clinical programming, including Master of Nursing and Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). This role takes on meaningful ownership of processes and systems while working closely with senior leadership on regulatory strategy, risk management, and institutional decision-making. __________________________________________________________________________________________
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
State Authorization & NC-SARA Coordinate and maintain institutional compliance across U.S. jurisdictions, including state authorization applications, renewals, reporting, and status tracking Support NC-SARA participation and readiness Monitor regulatory changes and recommend institutional responses Assist in evaluating state-by-state program expansion feasibility to support enrollment and academic growth decisions Clinical & Licensure Compliance Assist in managing compliance for clinical placements (Nursing, DPT) and experiential learning programs across multiple states Track and maintain state-by-state professional licensure requirements Assist in preparing student disclosures and required program notifications Support new program development and modality changes through compliance review Process & Systems Ownership Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for authorization workflows, licensure determinations, and clinical compliance processes Transition compliance activities from ad hoc practices to structured, scalable, and audit-ready systems Maintain centralized compliance tracking systems (SharePoint/Teams) and prepare dashboards and status reports for leadership Cross-Functional Coordination Serve as the central coordination point across Academic Affairs, Admissions, Enrollment Management, and Institutional Research on compliance-related matters Work with legal counsel and the VP of Institutional Effectiveness to support regulatory interpretation, risk mitigation, and audit readiness Support accreditation-related compliance activities, including alignment with MSCHE standards, and provide input on institutional policy development as it relates to regulatory requirements __________________________________________________________________________________________

MINIMUM ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor s degree Minimum of 3 years of experience in higher education compliance, state authorization, regulatory affairs, or a related field Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines across complex, multi-state regulatory environments Preferred Master s degree in higher education, public policy, or a related field, preferred Familiarity with NC-SARA, federal professional licensure disclosure requirements, Title IV regulations, or accreditation processes (e.g., MSCHE) Experience supporting professional licensure programs, particularly in health sciences or clinical disciplines Strong written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear SOPs, compliance documentation, student-facing disclosures, and summary reports for leadership
