Position Summary:
The Regulatory Manager leads the development, oversight, and execution of regulatory compliance programs across Bonduelle Americas' supply chain in support of business objectives. This role ensures that products, processes, and operations comply with all applicable international, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, as well as relevant industry standards. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Food Safety & Quality with a dotted line to the Director, Corporate Affairs, the Regulatory Manager owns the day-to-day execution, team performance, and regulatory program delivery. The role oversees internal controls, auditing systems, and risk-based compliance testing to proactively identify, detect, and correct non-compliance. Working closely with cross-functional partners, the Regulatory Manager embeds regulatory excellence into innovation, commercialization, and operations—enabling speed, confidence, and integrity in a fast-changing regulatory environment. As a subject matter expert, this role represents Bonduelle with regulatory agencies, trade associations, and industry groups, contributing technical expertise and perspective on legislation, regulations, and guidance that influence the company's long-term business strategy.
Primary Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance & Governance Manages regulatory compliance programs, policies, reporting, and practices to ensure all products, processes, and operations adhere to applicable international, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, as well as relevant industry standards. Ensures organizational activities follow regulatory requirements related to governance, food safety, labeling, environmental, ESG, and location-specific laws. Develops and executes regulatory strategies aligned with business objectives, including compliance assurance, regulatory horizon scanning, risk mitigation, and executional excellence Risk Management, Controls & Auditing Oversees internal controls and regulatory monitoring systems used to track, assess, and report compliance across regulated activities and processes. Manages internal regulatory audit processes, including documentation, findings, corrective actions, and follow-up to ensure sustained compliance. Tracks and monitors regulatory compliance actions and ensures timely closure across all affected operations. Regulatory Expertise & External Engagement Serves as the primary subject matter expert for regulatory requirements including, but not limited to: food safety, food defense, labeling, ingredients, formulations, allergens, standards of identity, nutrition, claims, net weight, processing, environmental, regulatory bodies (USDA and FDA), OSHA, EPA, ESG, and social responsibility. Manages relationships with regulatory agencies such as USDA, FDA, EPA, and OSHA, and engages with trade groups, industry associations, and regulatory panels as a technical representative of Bonduelle. Supports regulatory advocacy and policy development efforts by providing technical expertise and contributing to company positions on proposed legislation, regulations, and guidance. Product Development & Commercialization Support Actively participates in product development, commercialization, implementation, and change management activities to ensure regulatory compliance from concept through launch and lifecycle management. Provides regulatory assessments and label reviews to support speed-to-market while maintaining compliance and risk awareness. Monitoring & Tracking Researches and interprets new or changing regulations and engages appropriate stakeholders to drive awareness, alignment, and implementation.
Minimum Qualifications:
BS Degree in Food Science or related field. A MS degree in a related field is preferred. At least 5 years of professional experience in Regulatory Affairs related to Food Safety, Quality, and Environmental/ESG. Extensive knowledge of FDA and USDA regulations; label review experience required. HACCP certification preferred. FSMA Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification required Experience with OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations preferred. Proficiency with standard computer applications (Google Workspace, Microsoft Suite). Preferred experience with label software systems such as
Print Proof HQ and Genesis ESHA Additional Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence across functions. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex regulatory information and translate it into actionable guidance. Proven capability to manage projects end-to-end and drive results in ambiguous or rapidly changing environments. Ability to educate, train, and "sell" compliance programs and continuous improvement initiatives to stakeholders. High learning agility and resilience in the face of setbacks or incomplete information. Strong conflict management and problem-solving skills grounded in data and process thinking. Willingness to flex schedule as business needs require. Ability to travel up to 25%.
