Why work here? ✔ Manage a diverse affordable housing portfolio across multiple states ✔ Work alongside experienced housing professionals who value compliance excellence ✔ Make a direct impact on resident housing opportunities and program success ✔ Be a trusted advisor to property teams and organizational leadership ✔ Opportunity for professional growth within a growing management company What You'll Do Lead Affordable Housing Compliance Oversee regulatory compliance for affordable housing communities located throughout Rhode Island, Maine, Mississippi, Georgia, and Louisiana Ensure adherence to HUD, LIHTC, Section 8, Rural Development, HOME, Mixed Financing, and other affordable housing program requirements Monitor regulatory updates and implement changes across the portfolio Maintain compliance tracking systems, monitoring tools, and regulatory reporting processes Manage contract renewals, Mark-Up-To-Market submissions, and compliance reporting requirements Review marketing plans, tenant selection plans, and leasing activities to ensure regulatory compliance Tenant Eligibility & Certification Oversight Review and approve initial certifications, annual recertifications, and lease-up files Verify income, assets, household composition, and program eligibility Ensure complete, accurate, and audit-ready tenant documentation Provide guidance and support to site teams throughout certification and recertification processes Fair Housing Leadership Ensure compliance with Fair Housing, accessibility, and non-discrimination requirements Support Section 504 compliance efforts and reasonable accommodation processes Monitor waiting list administration and tenant selection practices Deliver guidance and training on Fair Housing best practices Training & Operational Support Serve as the primary compliance resource for property management teams Provide ongoing coaching, training, and regulatory guidance Support compliance help desk operations and respond to site staff inquiries Partner with leadership on compliance staffing, performance management, and development initiatives Audits & Agency Reviews Conduct internal file reviews and compliance audits Prepare properties for MORs, agency inspections, and tenant file reviews Develop corrective action plans and monitor resolution efforts Respond to audit findings and regulatory inquiries Ensure communities remain inspection and audit ready year-round What We're Looking For Required Qualifications 7+ years of affordable housing compliance, property management, or related experience Extensive knowledge of HUD, LIHTC, Section 8, HOME, Rural Development, and other affordable housing programs HUD and/or LIHTC Certification (Blended Certification required) Experience completing both rolling and batch recertifications Experience preparing for and responding to audits and regulatory reviews Strong knowledge of property management software systems Experience with OneSite and RealPage strongly preferred Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and properties simultaneously Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Supervisory or team leadership experience Multi-state affordable housing compliance experience Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field The Ideal Candidate You are: A compliance expert who can confidently interpret complex regulations Detail-oriented and highly organized Analytical, proactive, and solutions-focused Comfortable working independently while supporting a collaborative team A trusted resource who enjoys training and mentoring others Committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and accountability Physical Requirements This position is primarily sedentary and involves extended periods of computer work, document review, and virtual collaboration.
