Position Overview The Trade & Logistics Compliance Manager will build and lead the regional compliance function for the Americas, with an initial focus on the United States and Canada. This role ensures adherence to all applicable customs, import/export control, and trade regulations while serving as the primary regional contact for compliance matters. The position also plays a key role in shaping and aligning with global compliance standards and initiatives. Key Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance & Oversight Monitor, interpret, and implement new and existing customs, import, and export control regulations across the region. Serve as the regional subject matter expert for trade compliance, supporting multiple business units and locations. Develop and communicate actionable compliance guidance, procedures, and updates in coordination with global compliance leadership. Provide training and support to logistics and warehouse teams to ensure consistent execution of compliance processes. Review and resolve potential matches on sanctions and denied‑party screening lists. Partner effectively with contacts across warehousing, logistics, and compliance at various organizational levels. Lead and mentor regional compliance specialists or subject matter experts. Maintain a functional reporting relationship with global compliance leadership teams. Governance, Risk & Escalation Management Serve as the first point of escalation for trade compliance issues that cannot be resolved locally. Evaluate complex cases and determine appropriate escalation paths, including global leadership or external legal advisors when necessary. Oversee compliance activities related to Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations andCTPAT/PIP
certification and maintenance. Cross‑Functional Coordination & Communication Maintain regular communication with global compliance teams to ensure alignment on strategy, priorities, and regulatory changes. Organize and lead quarterly regional compliance meetings, including agenda development and coordination with global stakeholders. Participate in global working groups, virtual meetings, and conferences; provide updates on regional trends and regulatory developments. Facilitate clear communication between local logistics teams and global compliance groups to support consistent processes and best practices. External Representation & Relationship Management Represent the organization in external trade compliance forums, industry groups, and events hosted by government agencies. Build and maintain professional relationships with customs and trade authorities in the U.S. and Canada.Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Business, Law, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus. Active U.S. Customs Broker License required. 8-10 years of progressive experience in international trade compliance within manufacturing, heavy equipment, logistics, or similarly regulated industries. Demonstrated expertise in import and export controls, HTS classification, and the use of MIC or comparable trade compliance platforms. Hands-on experience supporting or managing Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations and maintaining CTPAT and PIP program compliance. Proven ability to work directly with U.S. and Canadian government agencies, customs authorities, and trade regulators. Strong background in developing, implementing, and improving compliance processes across multiple sites or business units. Experience collaborating with global or cross‑regional compliance teams is highly beneficial. Prior exposure to large, multinational environments is preferred.About CTR Group:
