We are an equal opportunity employer including veterans and people with disabilities. A Brief Overview The 340B Analyst assists in maintaining a compliant 340B program at Children's Nebraska. Essential Functions Auditing Be involved in any and all 340B Program audits. Perform audits on a scheduled basis; may involve presenting and resolving reconciliation issues as they arise during the monitoring and reconciliation process. Assists with audits of outpatient prescriptions fulfilled by an owned pharmacy, and outpatient prescriptions fulfilled by a contract 340B pharmacy Assist with routine audits of contract pharmacies. Perform monthly self-audits of 340B pharmacy operations. Ensure compliance with 340B Program requirements for qualified patients, drugs, and locations. Evaluate patient eligibility for qualified and non-qualified patients in mixed-use areas and clinics by reviewing patient medical records, insurance plans, and, if applicable, hospital status. Ensure that facilities maintain adherence to 340B Program regulations and guidelines. Develop and foster working relationships with internal working counterparts (IT, internal audit, results, accounting, and others) to facilitate productive exchanges of information to improve program efficiency and promote program compliance. Assist in providing data, information, and reports as needed for other business units within the organization. Help maintain a current state of "audit readiness." Program Optimization Develop a thorough understanding of the 340B Program and improve the overall efficiency, value, and internal support of the 340B Program. Continue to build knowledge of the health care and pharmacy services industry; use that knowledge to identify ways, and make recommendations, to improve the 340B Program. Assess opportunities for cost savings and system improvements to yield higher compliance. Reporting Build other reports, as appropriate, to monitor and improve 340B Program compliance and performance. Maintain copies of reports for compliance and audit purposes. Assist in developing/updating 340B Program reporting packages detailing volume, financial value, and other reporting metrics as needed. Track financial impact over time, identify root causes of adverse trends, and make recommendations to improve the program's financial stability. Review and refine monthly 340B cost savings reports detailing purchasing and replacement practices, as well as dispensing patterns. Third-Party Administrator Software Develop a thorough understanding of the split-billing/third party administrator systems and the functions to be performed. Assist Pharmacy Inventory Control Specialist with information needed to place orders using the appropriate accounts (e.g., WAC, GPO, and 340B and non-340B) to replenish inventory in the mixed-use inventory setting. Policy, Procedure, & Education Review 340B Program policies and procedures on an ongoing basis and offer contributions and changes to ensure 340B compliance with organizational, regional, national, state and federal requirements. Assist in developing systems and processes to limit program liabilities and provide proper audits to identify risk and prevent duplicate discounts and diversion. Acts as a subject matter expert for staff on policies and procedures related to 340B procedures. Expand professional development through related classes and seminars, current publications, and regional/national association membership participation Purchasing/Inventory Coordination Work with Pharmacy Inventory Control Specialist to monitor ordering processes and integrate the most current pricing from wholesalers. Work with Pharmacy Inventory Control Specialists to analyze invoices, shipping, and in-ventory processes for 340B compliance. Education Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Required Experience Qualifications 4-6 years Pharmacy technician work experience Required and 2 years Hospital and/or pharmacy purchasing experience Preferred Skills and Abilities Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel (High proficiency) High level of attention to detail and excellent self-motivatioin, good decision-making and investigative skills (High proficiency) The ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population of people orally and in writing (High proficiency) Mathematical skills necessary for algebric conversions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (High proficiency) Licenses and Certifications Registered Pharmacy Tech in the state of NE Upon Hire Required Certified pharmacy tech from a NE recognized national or local certification board within 1 Year Required Successful completion of security check in compliance with requirements set by the state of Nebraska Required Completion of 340B University within 180 Days Required and 340B Apexus Certified Expert certificate preferred within 1-1/2 Yrs Required Children's is the very best for kids and the very best for your career!
