Brandon Barnhill, HR Director Hackbarth Delivery Service is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented HR Compliance Coordinator to join our team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring employee and contractor onboarding, regulatory compliance, recordkeeping, and screening processes are completed accurately and efficiently across our organization. What You'll Do As an HR Compliance Coordinator, you will serve as a key member of the Human Resources team, helping ensure all employees and independent contractors meet company, DOT, and regulatory requirements before beginning work. Key Responsibilities Compliance & Onboarding Administration Coordinate employee and contractor onboarding from initial paperwork through activation. Manage background checks, motor vehicle record (MVR) reviews, and pre-employment screening requirements. Ensure all onboarding documents are complete, accurate, and compliant with company standards. Verify receipt and accuracy of required employment and contractor documentation. Maintain onboarding status reports and regularly communicate progress with terminal leadership. Enter employee and contractor information into company systems and maintain accurate records. Issue identification badges and coordinate distribution to field locations. Transportation & DOT Compliance Assist in determining DOT-regulated driver classifications. Ensure Transportation Safety Services (TSS) documentation is completed and maintained. Verify compliance with transportation-related hiring requirements and company safety standards. Support audits and compliance reviews by maintaining accurate records and documentation. Drug & Background Screening Management Coordinate pre-employment drug testing for employees and independent contractors. Track and verify completion of all required screenings prior to onboarding. Maintain confidential records in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations. HR Records & Administrative Support Create, organize, and maintain employee and contractor files. Support HR reporting, compliance tracking, and data management initiatives. Assist with departmental projects and process improvement efforts. Ensure HR records are maintained accurately and securely. What We're Looking For Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources, compliance, onboarding, recruiting, or administrative experience. Experience working with HRIS systems and business software applications. Transportation, logistics, DOT compliance, or fleet industry experience is highly desirable. Experience with Xcelerator or similar transportation management software preferred. Skills & Abilities Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with managers and team members. High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
