$30.00 - $35.00 per hour The Compliance & Reporting Coordinator is responsible for preparing and submitting required regulatory reports to the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA), allocating diversion tonnage for contract haulers, and compiling landfill origin and disposal reporting. This position ensures compliance with federal, state, and local solid waste regulations while maintaining accurate records of material flows, diversion rates, and disposal data. Position Overview The Dispatcher is responsible for all levels of communication with drivers, operational staff (i.e. route supervisors, mechanics etc.), customer service, sales, and other varies departments within the company to assist with problem resolution in all lines of businesses. A Dispatch will handle incoming service orders, directs drivers, and resolves service issues. Shifts may vary with the potential for overtime and Saturday hours depending on operational needs. Responsibilities Prepare and submit monthly reports to the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) in accordance with state and local regulatory requirements Ensure compliance with applicable regulations including those enforced by agencies such as California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) Maintain documentation to support inspections, audits, and regulatory reviews Track reporting deadlines and ensure timely submissions Generate internal monthly performance reports for management review Allocate diversion tonnage among contract haulers based on inbound material data and contractual requirements Analyze disposal and diversion data to ensure accurate calculation of diversion rates Work closely with and coordinate with other departments, facilities, franchise haulers, and others to verify data accuracy Reconcile discrepancies in reported weights and material types Maintain databases and spreadsheets for tracking tonnage, diversion percentages, and jurisdictional reporting Prepare and submit landfill origin reports detailing jurisdictional waste sources and disposal locations Maintain accurate records of incoming waste streams by city, county, franchise hauler, and material type Ensure compliance with landfill reporting requirements and maintain supporting documentation Identify trends, discrepancies, or compliance risks and provide recommendations as necessary Serve as liaison during regulatory inspections and information requests Assist with annual report preparation and special studies as needed Minimum Qualifications 2-5 years of experience in within the waste industry Strong understanding of diversion reporting, landfill operations, and regulatory compliance. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data reconciliation). Excellent analytical, organizational, oral and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a regulatory-driven environment. Must have the ability to work independently Ability to deal tactfully, patiently, and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds Must effectively present information to management, public groups, customers, and the public Attention to detail Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with SB 1383 reporting requirements Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Business Administration, or related field preferred Experience working with Local Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) Knowledge of franchise agreements and municipal diversion calculations Experience with scale software or waste tracking systems Work Environment Use of motor coordination and finger dexterity (such as keyboarding) daily Exert physical effort in handling objects less than 25 lbs.
