Job Description

Position Summary The Compliance Officer I supports the Commission's oversight of regulated gaming activities by conducting inspections, monitoring casino operations, and ensuring adherence to federal, tribal, and compact requirements. The position evaluates compliance with the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA), Secretarial Procedures, Tribal Gaming Ordinance, Commission regulations, Casino Internal Control Systems, and National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS). This position involves on-site monitoring and report writing, and requires availability to work holidays, weekends and may include non-standard hours. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct compliance reviews and audits across all licensed gaming operations.
  • Monitor slot machines and associated software components, including EPROMs, Compact Flash, and hard drives.
  • Perform unannounced inspections throughout the casino's daily operations.
  • Test, examine, and verify gaming equipment for regulatory compliance.
  • Observe control chip changes and prepare corresponding documentation.
  • Conduct random audits of internal control systems and procedures.
  • Monitor gaming activities and observe surveillance systems to identify potential violations.
  • Document findings, prepare written reports, and maintain accurate regulatory records.
  • Coordinate with Security, Surveillance, Slots, and other departments involved in regulated gaming functions.
  • Support MICS compliance audits as directed by the Internal Auditor.
  • Gather preliminary evidence related to potential regulatory violations or investigations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Skills & Competencies
  • Knowledge of federal, state, tribal, and NIGC gaming laws and regulations.
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements to gaming operations.
  • Skill in preparing regulatory reports, documentation, and written communication.
  • Ability to operate surveillance systems, computers, two-way radios, and office equipment.
  • Ability to interact professionally with diverse staff and licensees.
  • Working knowledge of slot machines, table games, craps, and roulette.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and work in a smoking environment. Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in both office and casino floor environments.
  • Exposure to noise, smoke, and continuous walking or standing is expected.
  • May include irregular hours, holidays, and on-call duties.
  • Must participate in ongoing background and drug-testing requirements. Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain State and Tribal Gaming Licenses.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background/fingerprint check.
  • Must sign and comply with the Commission's Confidentiality Agreement.
  • Subject to random drug testing. Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional education, training, or experience related to regulatory compliance, gaming operations, or investigative work.
  • Any combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the duties of the position may be considered. Additional Requirements
  • Must comply with Commission ethics and conduct standards.
  • Must maintain eligibility for required licenses throughout employment.
  • Must adhere to all Commission policies, including confidentiality and reporting requirements.

Pay:
From $19.00 per hour Application Question(s): Must able to successfully pass backgrounds and licensing process for a gaming license.
