Job Description

Client Overview:
Our client is well-known in the nonprofit sector and is seeking a Housing Compliance Specialist for a client organization. This role supports regulatory compliance related to affordable housing programs and requires strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and knowledge of government housing regulations.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$60k - $65k
Position Overview:
The Housing Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with government agency regulations related to housing programs. The ideal candidate will have experience auditing applicant and resident files, monitoring rental assistance and subsidy availability, calculating utility allowances, and ensuring unit income targeting percentage requirements are met. This role requires compliance with HUD and LIHTC programs and is a full-time, onsite position located in the Fort Lauderdale area. Responsibilities of the
Housing Compliance Specialist:
Conduct initial qualifying LIHTC and HUD file reviews. Assist with initial lease-ups by reviewing housing applications, eligibility, and ensuring all required documentation is complete prior to tenant move-in. Enter data into compliance databases, ensuring accuracy and timely updates. Maintain current action documentation and determine resolution of compliance issues. Communicate critical information and provide thorough written communication to internal and external stakeholders. Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. Housing Compliance Specialist:
Minimum of two years of experience in affordable housing administration, restrictions, and compliance. Experience with HUD, LIHTC, and income verification processes. Experience auditing applicant and resident files for compliance with government regulations. Ability to monitor rental assistance and subsidy availability. Experience calculating utility allowances and unit income targeting percentage requirements. Preferred Experience/Skills for the
Housing Compliance Specialist:
Knowledge of
TRACS/EIV
systems and waiting list management.
Education Requirements:
High school diploma is required.
