Compliance Specialist (full-time). Summary:
As a Compliance Specialist, you manage and maintain the assigned affordable housing portfolio, including, but not limited to, application processing, tenant file reviews, preparing and managing audits (state, local, etc.), monitoring regulatory agreement requirements, and ensuring and updating utility allowances and rent/income limits as needed. Location:
Work is hybrid with 3-days per week in the Tampa Support Center office, and working remotely 2-days per week from your home. Key Requirements:
Extensive experience with LIHTC properties and portfolio's, certified COS, CPO, TCS

Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of affordable housing regulations and act as a resource to all staff on compliance matters. Internal reviews of resident files should be conducted to ensure compliance with the IRS Section 42 Program (LIHTC—Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), SAIL, MMRB, BOND & HOME, and SHIP Programs. Oversee compliance to ensure site teams are following proper LIHTC and Richman Property Services, Inc. procedures. Monitor sites to ensure files are retained per IRS and Richman Asset Management requirements. Review Income/Rent Limits, Utility Allowance schedules, and any other policies or procedural changes for the assigned portfolio. Field incoming inquiries from site, regional, and corporate staff related to property-specific compliance requirements. Maintain relationships with auditors from various entities and agencies. Keep management advised of significant operational problems and any deviations from the management plan. Work with site management teams on audit preparation for all State, City, Lender, and Asset management compliance reviews and audits, and process any corrections that may be found because of the review. Respond to audit discrepancies on time. Assist fellow compliance team members as needed. Maintain the credibility of the process by complying with all established procedures and guidelines. Maintain applicant confidence and company policy by strict adherence to confidentiality. Maintain prompt and regular attendance. Attend continuing education seminars in areas of expertise as required by management. Manage additional responsibilities as may be periodically assigned by Senior Management. Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Experience:
Prefer at least 3 to 5 years of experience working in multi-family property management and extensive experience with LIHTC. Knowledge of Yardi, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook! Ability to operate various types of office equipment, such as computers, printers, copy machines, telephone systems, and facsimile machines. Skills & Certifications:
HCCP, COS, or CPO certification preferred Must have reliable automobile transportation and a valid Driver's License and Insurance Self-starter, detail-oriented with professional communication, customer service, organizational, and analytical/problem-solving skills. Proficient with multiple computer and software programs. Able to accept supervision, speak clearly and calmly, and work towards a win-win resolution of issues. Participate in team meetings and/or training sessions. Have professional presentation skills. Exhibit sound judgment, ability to prepare and/or analyze reports, ask appropriate questions, seek guidance, and communicate outstanding matters with direct supervisor. Able to prepare reports as requested. Must be able to speak, read, and write English in a manner sufficient to carry out duties. Benefits:
