Grant Compliance Specialist STATUS:
ExemptPOSITION DESCRIPTION
All work efforts focus on effectively meeting the needs of the Meskwaki Nation and its membership. The Grant Compliance Specialist is responsible for assisting the Grants & Planning Office in preparing new grant files, support the office in conducting award onboarding, maintain and coordinate records as per federal and grantor requirements, assist in identifying reporting requirements and schedules and work with Departments to assure compliance requirements are met, timely. The Compliance Specialist will assist the Grants Office in maintaining currency with grants compliance, and in policy and planning activities. The Grants & Planning Director and Grants Associate develop work projects and work objectives, but the Compliance Specialist must exercise initiative and judgement in carrying out these duties.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in execution of the Tribal government strategic Assist in providing staffing support to the Grant Work Assist in providing input for Tribal Strategic planning efforts. Interact with all entities involved in grant-funded activities, especially to address compliance issues. Facilitate in maintaining Grant Office knowledge of general Grant policies and Develop relationships and collaboration with Department Assist in onboarding grant awards and in supporting grants Assist in developing implementation plans for new grants to guide project manager(s). Assist in providing grant compliance training to Tribal Directors/Project Provide clear communication to assist Project Managers in understanding and performing grant program management, compliance, oversight, and reporting. Ensure grant activities are in compliance with budgets, general grant guidelines, policies and procedures, and quality control. Assist with grant compliance, grant reporting, including to lead compliance Assist in identifying and addressing grant issues, including policies, record management, and reviews. Assist in conduct of project audits/monitoring, recommending areas of compliance improvement, and developing roadmaps for remediation. Track and resolve grant management related Facilitate preparation of award modifications to resolve grant award Assist with grant activity tracking systems and related hard and electronic Maintain and update records in hard copy grant files, assuring consistency with electronic records and record management and retention policy. Aid in record keeping, monitoring, evaluation, and Assist Grant Director in updating hard copy and shared electronic records. Maintain and upkeep stakeholder database with relevant contact information, especially for use in Tribe's single audit. Follow policies and confidentiality requirements to safeguard data and Perform other tasks and provide support to the Grants & Planning Office asQUALIFICATIONS
Associate's Degree in Business, Communications, Grants Management, Government Administration, or related field. Knowledge and proficiency in C. word processing, spreadsheet, Internet and e-mail. Knowledge of grant compliance requirements Knowledge of Tribal sovereignty and Tribal government function and structure Skill in verbal, written, and electronic Skill in organization, time management, and prioritization of Skill in critical analysis of complex Ability to assist and lead in various grants management & compliance Ability to research regulation and analyze grant awards for compliance Ability to work with Tribes and Federal agencies that provide services to the Ability to communicate grant compliance requirements to project Ability to evaluate and develop plans to remediate compliance issues. Driver's LicensePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Business, Grants Management, Government Administration or related field.SUPERVISION
