Job Description

Food Safety QA Systems & Compliance Coordinator Position Summary The FSQA Systems & Compliance Coordinator is responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization's Food Safety Management System (FSMS), regulatory compliance programs, certification requirements, and quality documentation systems. This position serves as the primary coordinator for food safety and quality records, document control, corrective action tracking, audit readiness activities, compliance reporting, and certification support. The role works closely with the Director of FSQA and operational leadership to ensure the organization remains audit-ready and compliant with customer, regulatory, and certification requirements. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFood Safety Management System Administration
  • Maintain controlled food safety and quality documentation.
  • Manage document revision, approval, distribution, and retention processes.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of
FSSC 22000
requirements.
  • Coordinate updates to policies, procedures, work instructions, and forms.
  • Ensure compliance records remain current and audit ready. Audit & Certification Coordination
  • Coordinate internal, customer, regulatory, and certification audits.
  • Prepare audit schedules and readiness plans.
  • Assemble documentation and evidence required during audits.
  • Track audit findings and corrective action commitments.
  • Support certification maintenance and recertification activities. CAPA Management
  • Maintain Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) tracking systems.
  • Monitor completion of corrective actions.
  • Verify supporting evidence and closure documentation.
  • Generate status reports for management review.
  • Escalate overdue actions when appropriate. Compliance Reporting & Analytics
  • Prepare compliance dashboards and KPI reports.
  • Track trends involving non-conformances, complaints, inspections, and audit results.
  • Analyze data to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
  • Support management review processes. Regulatory & Organic Compliance Support
  • Maintain records supporting FDA, customer, and organic certification requirements.
  • Support traceability and record retention programs.
  • Assist with supplier compliance documentation.
  • Monitor regulatory changes affecting food safety programs. QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • One to five years of experience in quality assurance, food safety, compliance, warehousing, manufacturing, or distribution.
  • Strong organizational and document management skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
  • Strong written communication skills. Preferred
  • HACCP certification.
  • PCQI training.
  • Internal Auditor training.
  • Experience supporting FSSC 22000, SQF, BRCGS, or NSF standards.
  • Experience with document control systems and audit management. Success Measures
